You or one of your friends is having NAT trouble. Check your connection settings in the dashboard and see if it says moderate or strict. If it says neither of these then your NAT is open and its not your connection. Ask your buddies to do the same, and if any of them are getting a moderate or strict NAT, send them to www.portforward.com and tell them to configure their router for xbox live. The website gives a walkthrough on how to do it for nearly every model of router out there.
