360 scratching discs????

I was trying to play Battlefront 2 on my 360, but whenever I closed the tray, it would read the game for a couple seconds and then simply say ''open tray''. It wouldn't recognize the game at all, not even say ''cannot read disc''. I tried putting it in several times before giving up. As I put it back into it's case, I noticed it was extremely scratched. I don't remember the game EVER being that scratched. I always keep my games in good condition. What's up? 360 scratching discs????
I'm pretty sure its because 360's don't have pads around the reading lense, but ps3's and wii's do. This I heard from a sony cow who's a friend of mine, so I'm not sure it its true. Not much you can do, just don't turn the console of suddenly or when its loading.360 scratching discs????
my 360 destroyed my mass effect disk. there is this big rigid line going around the outside if the disk so it can't spin. Also when i put in my R6V2 disk the 360 thinks it's a DVD and i have 2 open the disk drive and spin the disk 2 a dif position and keep trying until it reads it as a game and not a DVD.
my 360 has scratched my discs too (fable II and gears 1) got no clue what it is, probably just a bad xbox
